Music

We are very lucky to have many musically talented children in Scoil Phádraig. Every year they regularly get together to form our school band under the direction of Sean Walsh. The pupils learn to play musical instruments such as Tin Whistle, Keyboard, Bodhrán and guitar. They are taught by Sean Walsh and Brian Walsh. They always amaze us and the wider Corduff community when they perform in our Christmas Carol Services and other school productions throughout the year.

Christmas Carol Service

For the past few years the children in Scoil Phádraig have performed in a Christmas Carol Service in St. Michael’s church in Corduff. The carol service  is a very special event in our school calendar and it’s an occasion that is thoroughly enjoyed by staff, parents, pupils and the wider community.  We would like to thank Liebe Kelly and Barry Hughes for preparing the children for their performances.

Seachtain Na Gaeilge

Gach bliain i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge bíonn céilí mór againn sa halla chun Lá Fhéile Pádraig a cheilúradh. Tagann an scoil go léir le chéile. Canann na páistí amhráin, seineann siad ceoil tradisiúnta, deanann said damhsa Gaeilge agus gan aon agó bíonn spóirt is scléip ag gach duine.
Our annual céilí is held in the month of March to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Every class gets a chance to perform a concert piece which may involve singing, reciting poetry, playing traditional music or presenting a short drama. It is a most enjoyable occasion for all and certainly an annual favourite with our pupils. An event not to be missed!

Book Week

We usually celebrate ‘World Book Day’ during the month of March. The children will have the opportunity to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and they will take part in various activities throughout the school. It was a fun day for everyone.
